Housing affordability impacts us all. Calgary’s increasing rents and comparatively low ratio of non-market affordable housing means that there are fewer options available as our population grows.

Although it is an issue that all levels of government have a role in, housing is uniquely impacted by municipal policies regarding density, supply, and the services that sustain communities. Calgary’s City Council has a responsibility to ensure that the future of affordable housing is equitable and accessible to all and to recognize that increasing supply alone is not a solution.

In an effort to highlight the human aspect of the housing crisis, we’re asking community members (like you) to share how housing affordability impacts them and why this needs to be addressed to support thriving communities and ensure Calgary is an affordable and equitable place to live.

Please share your story in the form to the right and help us tackle the housing crisis, together!
