This pandemic isn’t over. COVID–19 is still a lingering and serious threat.
Calgary residents who rely on public transit need to get around the city safely. So why do our city’s leaders think it’s ok to cut service levels and do away with social distancing measures on transit?
Reduced service and no requirements for social distancing have left Calgary Transit riders no choice but to be packed into trains and buses at unsafe levels – and with riders who refuse to wear masks.
Calgary Transit and City Hall seem to think it’s OK to risk Calgarians getting sick just so they can save a few bucks–we disagree.
We are demanding that City Hall and Calgary Transit immediately:
- Restore service levels to prevent overcrowding
- Restore social distancing measures on public transit
