Lana’s Experience and Background
A proud Ward 6 resident, Lana has taught at Mount Royal University for more than a decade and also works as a Director of Strategy at the largest and longest serving women’s organization in the city. Prior to her current role she worked in child and adolescent mental health for roughly 10 years with Alberta Health Services.
Lana is a firm believer that local government has the ability to positively impact the day-to-day lives of Calgarians from Signal Hill to Glenbrook and beyond—and she wants to be a part of that impact.
Deeply committed to issues of equity, inclusion, and wellness, Lana spent years working in the areas of mental health, family violence, and poverty reduction. She wants to ensure that these issues do not get eclipsed in the upcoming election. She believes that in order for Calgary to thrive, we will need to think differently, treat each other differently, and approach problem-solving differently.
