On Tuesday, May 14th, 9 out of fifteen City Councillors voted to approve R-CG zoning changes. They voted to support increased housing access in our city because they heard from Calgarians like you who demanded that they take action and over a record twelve day hearing convinced them of this necessary change.
Now, we need to thank them for taking this small step towards addressing Calgary’s housing affordability crisis and remind them that their leadership on this issue is appreciated. We know that they’ll be receiving letters from Calgarians opposed to neighbourhood change and we need to make sure they hear from us as well.
This is only one small step in addressing housing affordability, but it’s another step in the right direction.
