Right now, City Councillors are deciding how to spend our tax dollars. Before they finalize the new City Budget starting November 21, we need to make sure they know we want to see investments in important issues like affordability, better jobs, and climate action.
Will you help us make sure that City Council knows we want a Better Budget for Calgary by tweeting your Councillor? At our last count, ~2000 Calgarians have already signed on to support a Better Budget, but we need to take the next step to make sure our elected officials know how many of us are behind it.
If our City Councillors receive a flood of tweets from the people who elected them–just days before they vote on the budget–they’ll have to pay attention to what we want. Tweets are a great way to get our elected leaders to respond publicly to our asks.
This is a massive opportunity for us to influence Calgary City Council to invest in issues we care about. But we don’t have much time, so we have to act fast.
